What is this, Angry Key, thing?

Created by ~five, °dygel & `iMike several years ago; deviantART members take a webcam-sized (320 pixels wide x 240 pixels tall) picture of themselves with a mouth full of keys and a "DEATH DEFYING" look of anger on their face! Submit it to the project coordinator and later, a collage of all the photos will appear as a Deviation on deviantART.com for everyone to enjoy. AKD has become a symbol of community kinship through idiotic shenanigans here at deviantART.

In October, 2005, fellow long time deviantART member iMike endeavored to promote his fourth installment of the popular CommDev project entitled Angry Key Deviants. He had had overwhelming success with the previous three (1, 2 & 3) photo collages in terms of participation and deviantART lore. For the fourth attempt, there was subpar initial involvement but in light of events at the time, and because he's a GREAT guy, iMike offered $1 (from his own pocket) for every image submitted to be donated to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund. At the closure of the submission date, Nov. 1 2005, 40 submissions had been gathered. With a personal goal to of $100 to donate to the charity, iMike increased his mark of $1/photo to $2.50.

In late October, iMike realized that he would have difficulty getting the project out amid all the things going on in his own life. He made a call for help which was heeded by few. Ultimately, °attila contacted iMike with a plan to get this project put out as soon as possible in a creative way. Knowing that his friend *gauravpatel was more talented artistically, their vision came together quickly after receiving the green light in late January, 2006.
